New Delhi: IIT-Madras pocketed the top ranking, followed by IIT-Bombay and Iit-Delhi in second and third position, in the latest Atal Ranking of the institution in the achievement of innovation (Ariia) in the category of centrally funded technical institutions, while Panjab University, Technology University Delhi and Netaji Subhas University of Technology appeared as the top three in the category of state and demed universities (various governments).
Ranked 2021 released by the Ministry of Education on Wednesday.
Ariia is a MOE policy initiative to systematically rank all major education and universities in India about indicators related to the promotion and support of “innovation and entrepreneurship development” among students and faculty.
The first edition of Aria began in 2019 and a total of 496 institutions competed to get a position in rank.
The Aria edition currently looks at registration of 3,551 Heis higher education and 1,438 technical institutions (including all IIT, Nits, IISC, etc.)
This third edition has introduced a special framework for non-technical institutions that further strengthen innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems in Indian higher education institutions.
Indira Gandhi National Open University and India Institute Management, Kozhikode is in the top rankings at the Institute of National Portsectient, Central University and CFIS (Non-Technical) Category, While Entrepreneurship Developing Institute of India and Sree Narayana College, Kerala is the top two institutions in the General Category (non technical).

Minister of Education Jarion Subhas Sarkar almost announced the Tanking Ariia 2021.
He said the ranking would certainly inspire Indian institutions to refer their minds and build ecosystems to encourage high-quality research, innovation and entrepreneurship on their campuses.
