IIT researchers developed new technology to charge electric vehicles which cost half now

New Delhi: Researchers from various IITs have developed new technologies to charge electric vehicles which cost about half of current on-board charger technology and can help significantly reduce the cost of eV two and four four-wheeled events.
According to the team, the development of a lab scale has been conducted in IIT (BHU) and increasing and commercialization is underway.
One of the leading electric vehicle manufacturers in this country has also shown interest in this new technology and is ready to develop full commercial products that can be applied to existing electric vehicles, the team claims without naming the company.
This technology has been developed in IIT (BHU), Varanasi, in collaboration with experts from IIT Guwahati and IIT Bhubaneshwar.
“Increased prices of gasoline and diesel in this country are worried about ordinary people.
Amid the increasing cost of petroleum products and increasing pollution levels, electric vehicles (EV) are the best alternatives for conventional IC machines but lack of power lid.
Infrastructure charging forcing the car maker to enter The onboard charger into the vehicle itself, “said Rajeev Kumar Singh, the head of the project investigator, IIT BHU.
“Vehicle owners can charge the vehicle through outlets and hence, this leads the electric vehicle becomes very expensive.
In the proposed onboard charger technology, we reduce one electronic interface the additional power needed for propulsion mode and, therefore, the components involved are reduced on 50 pc.
The proposed charger can be reconfigured which can act as a charger for filling mode and inverter for propulsion mode, “he told PTI.
Singh explained that because of this technology, the cost of onboard charger will be reduced by almost 40-50 PCs compared to existing ones.
“The reduction in costs in the next charger will reduce EV costs as well.
In this way, the proposed technology provides low cost technology for EVs.” This technology will be entirely indigenous and will have a significant impact on electric vehicles.
On the streets of India in a great way, “he said.
The Director of Iit Bhu Pramod Kumar Jain said techno-commercial, social, economic and the impact of technology would also be positive.” This technology will increase filling infrastructure and support the government’s mission to bring electric vehicles on Jalan India, “he said.
