Bhubaneswar: Mrutyunjay Maharana, Alumnus Iit-Guwahati and a researcher, left a high-paid job in China last year and made a ‘ethuson’ online platform with his friends to teach school students in Odisha.
Now more than 800 students regularly take classes through the application.
His team made animated content based on visualization techniques and uploaded it in the application.
Initially, Maharana and his team began an ethuson platform with a pilot base through the website on August 2020.
They launched the mobile app a few days ago.
Students can attend classes directly through this application.
More than 700 medium odiah and more than 150 middle-medium students from class IV to class X have registered for online class so far.
This application has online test facilities and provisions holding a doubt clearing class.
If there are students who miss the class directly, it can access the same video lecture from the Etuson application library.
“We are very worried about the economic conditions of parents of children who study in secondary schools.
Therefore, we provide free access to the Etuson digital content subscriptions for economically retreat students throughout Odisha,” Maharana said, one of the founders application.
He said, “When the whole world moves towards digitizing, I wonder why my country’s school children don’t get the benefit of it? It was the time when the pandemic was at its peak in India.
Many poor students in rural areas do not get access to online classes and We have decided to help them.
“Researchers have begun conducting surveys in several districts and receiving 500 surveys.
They have asked several questions related to student problems in digital learning.
The two main problems are unavailability of high-quality digital content and Android phones.
“So, we are thinking of making animated content-based visualization techniques for each class.
And students can then have access to an Android phone to get content,” Maharana said.
He has discussed with Soumya Ranjan Biswal (Co-Founder) and Subhajit Nayak (Co-founder) and collectively works together for its implementation.
