Patna: Some members of the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) environmental council, including former Deputy Mayor of Vinay Kumar Pappu, has opposed garbage collection and holding tax accusations collected from commercial and household companies.
The proposal in this case was recently approved by a member of the Civic Bodies Committee.
VINAY, Member of the Environmental Council Number 28, said the tax holding was collected for services provided by city bodies, such as sanitation and solid waste management.
“Retrying additional accusations for door-to-door waste collection from commercial companies that violate the law,” he said.
He said The Civic Body and Patna Mayor issued a “sarcastic” cost collection resolution from commercial companies even though they remained closed for most of last year’s time.
“A private company has been handed freely to collect garbage costs forcibly from all commercial property holders.
This is truly wrong,” said the former Deputy Mayor.
Commissioner PMC Himanshu Sharma said the notification for the costs of garbage collection was issued by the state government in 2018, but the Civic body has implemented it this year.
“Throughout the country, all city agencies charge separately for garbage collection.
So, we do not do anything new or violate the law.
Instead, we have provided a commercial price discount and private property on garbage collection and charging lower than what is It has been notified by the government, “he said.
PMC has included schools, colleges, cinema rooms, malls, shopping complexes, gas stations, showrooms, restaurants and hotels as a commercial property.
