Illegal Sand Mining Costs Bihar RS 7K CR A Year: Min

Patna: The Government of the State of the State has led to an average annual loss to 700 Crore because of illegal sand mining, mines and geological ministers.
Toi has requested RAM by telephone about the estimated loss of income issued by the state of illegal sand mining and transportation within the boundaries of the country.
Based on the investigation report of the Economic Violation Unit (Eou), several government officials, including Aurangabad SP Sudheer Kumar Podika and Bhojpur SP Rakesh Kumar Dubey, were removed recently because of the alleged Nexus by smuggling their sand.
According to the details available on the official website of the Ministry of Mine and Geology, sand mining is the biggest source of income for the state government.
According to information on the website, sand mining produces RS 428.06 Crore income in the 2015-2016 fiscal year and Rs 457.65 Crore in 2016-2017.
This section of the income from sand mining is only less than 50% of the total income of RS 971 Crore generated from all sources by the department in 2015-16 and RS 994.1 Crore in the next fiscal year.
“All of these operations (crack down on illegal sand mining based on the EOO report) is a challenge for me.
The government’s priority is to ensure the availability of sand which is easy and at the right level for its projects and lay people,” he said.
The minister said he continued to write to the district level authorities to take action against illegal sand mining.
“I previously brought the Nexus problem between illegal sand mining and mafia with Nitish Kumar notification.
Finally, the action was being carried out on mistaken officials, including those consisting of my department,” Minister said.
Meanwhile, the sources of the home department said Eou had started a preliminary investigation, which was a prerequisite for registering cases of disproportionate assets, against 42 government officials, including two IPS officers.
“Such questions are done secretly.
This problem has now become a public,” said a government senior government official to all of the operations.
He said the report of Eou’s question about the rampant illegal sand mining has named 42 government officials, including two SPs, posted on Patna, Bhojpur, advice, Aurangabad, Rohas and Kaiur.
