New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday raided several locations in Punjab Pollop-bound as part of the money laundering investigation of ‘sand mafia’ and companies related to alleged illegal sand mining in the state, officials said.
They said at least 10-12 locations in the state included in Chandigarh and Mohali were being covered by federal agencies and actions were being carried out under the provisions of the prevention of money laundering Law (PMLA).
A place related to someone who was identified as Bhupinder Singh aka Honey was also covered.
He was declared a relative of the Minister of Punjab Chararjit Singh Channi.
Previous opposition parties related to Channi dealing with honey which was previously rejected.
ED Action, said Source, has begun after consuming the punjab police braid 2018 against several companies and individuals allegedly involved in illegal sand mining in the state.
Voting for 117 assembly seats in Punjab is scheduled for February 20.
