Illegal sand transportation is rampant: MLA

Mangaluru: Former Minister of Karnataka and Mangaloru MLA U T Khader said that even though there were restrictions on Covid-19 administration of Dakshina Kannada and strict border supervision, sand was being illegally transported to Kerala.
The Congress leader told reporters on Tuesday that RT-PCR negative reports were mandatory for people from Kerala to enter Dakshina Kannada.
However, there is no limit for those who transport sand to Kerala illegally, Khader said, questioning the district administrative administration actions.
“Sand is being transported to Kerala at the Sans Truck permission,” Khader said.
He suggested that the state government must prepare Covid-19 Fool Proof-19 guidelines.
“Let government frame guidelines that can be implemented effectively.
District administration and health department Dakshina Kannada and Kasaragod must hold a coordination meeting,” said MLA.
In 108 ambulance services, Khader said the district faced the lack of staff.
“Because of the lack of nurse and sufficient driver, 108 services have been influenced in this district.
There are no new promises that have been made and the vehicle, which leased leased, has stopped service because they are not paid,” he said.
In Covid management, MLA said the government had launched five cellular applications for the convenience of Asha workers, but had not given them smartphones.
