Mumbai: Mumbai SPCA Regency has stepped up after hearing the complaint of animal activists that feeders face harassment from several animal haters while feeding wild cats in Maheshwari Park (King Name Circle) in Matunga.
The Mumbai team from NGOs led by veteran animal activists and former Union Minister of Manka Gandhi, people for animals (PFA), have intervened in this sensitive material, which leads to Mumbai Regency SPCA writing to F-North Ward corporation Municipal Bihanmumbai ( BMC) that illegal to stop feeding street animals.
Communiciary from Mumbai SPCA to the city ward has mentioned that the prevention of atrocities on animal laws, in addition to various guidelines for Indian animal welfare councils to state that citizens feed birds and animals.
Feeders based on Matunga Viral Gogri told TOI: “We recently approached the PFA Manaka Gandhi organization other than local police and other institutions to resolve the problems faced by feeders in Maheshwari Park while feeding around 20 of these cats vaccinated and us.

However, a group of people asked BMC to remove it from the garden; which we objected since it would be cruel and illegal.

There is still a fear that is left that someone can illegally evacuate the cat from there.
However, feeders are ready to fight it legally out if necessary with active support from other city NGOs.
