Ghaziabad: Police have broken illegal weapons in Ghaziabad and take large cache weapons and ammunition, officials said on Saturday.
Five men had also been arrested, they said.
Illegal weapons factories are run near the Shahzadpur Village road culvert in the city of Muradnagar, police said.
Senior police supervisor, Pawan Kumar, told reporters that five pistols of 0.32 bore, 72 cartridges, 20 half-furnished pistols, 55 barrels 32 bore, 13 magazines, 250 magazine magazines, 90 side plate, 90, 17 trigger guards along with instruments Manufacturing and other parts of the gun have been confiscated.
The defendant has been identified as Mohammad Mustafa, a resident of Muner, Salam and Kaifi Bihar, both from Muradnagar here, Salman, and a woman named Asgari who came from Meerut.
Two of their hands – Zahiruddin and Faiyyaz – both of them escaped, Kumar said.
The defendant told the police that the owner of the Zahiruddin plant, along with his wife Asgari, partner Faiyyaz, and Nephew Salman, used to manage raw materials to forge illegal firearms.
Two days after carrying raw materials, they will sell a gun that has been completed with “anti-social elements”, according to the police.
The police have also recovered RS 1.5 lakh cash from the defendant.
The cash recovered was the result of sales of weapons, and saved for the same distribution and to buy raw materials and other equipment, police said.
