ILP is no longer needed by Desi tourists to visit the Ladakh protected area

Leh: Ladakh Administration has submitted an internal license for Indian citizens who visited all Ladakh protected areas who were told because ILP had “lost its relevance”, Mehboob Ali, Tourism and Culture Secretary at Ladakh, told TII on Thursday.
ILP documents are needed by domestic and foreign visitors to visit popular tourist areas such as Nubra Valley, Khardung La, Pangong Tso, Tso Morir Village, Dah and Hanu, Man, Merak, Nyoma, Loma Bend, Turtuk, and Chushul.
UT did go with ILP earlier this month.
Foreign tourists still need to apply for ILP to visit protected areas.
However, the validity of their ILP has been extended to 15 days since the previous seven days.
“By opening domestic tourism in Ladakh, we found almost no need for ILP because it created many logistical problems for tourists.
That is why, after consultation with all stakeholders and realizing it has lost its relevance, we get rid of ILP.
But tourists still have to pay environmental fees On online or cash.
There are limitations in the border area of the visit, but slowly, this will also be removed except in the area with border problems, “Ali said.
