Ima & Abita set up cancer filtering camps for women

Dibrugarh: Assam Branch from the Indian Medical Association (IMA), in collaboration with the Indian Tea Association Assam (ABITA) Zone 1, organizing breast cancer screening camps and cervical cancer at the Jokai Central Hospital in the Tea Estate Panitola on Friday.
Women, who are married and are above the age of 30, of all tea plantations, under the Panitola circle of Abita Zone 1, filtered.
This camp was inaugurated in front of Saven Goswami, Deputy Chairperson, Abita and Chairperson, Abita Zone 1, Madhurjya Barooah, Secretary, Abita Zone 1, Dr.
Prercona Kisan, Gambir, Ima and Dr.
Bhattacharyya, Coordinator and Medical Circle Zone 1 Medical Coordinator from Circle Panitola.
Dr.
Kisan, assisted by a skilled nurse, conducted a screening session under the ‘Project Sway’.
Nurse staff Hospital Central Jokai provides the necessary support.
Dr.
Bhattacharyya, who led the initiative, said that 56 beneficiaries of women from Dinjan, Kharjan, Nokhroy, Rungagora, Panitola and Chubwa Tea Estates attended the camp.
Pap smear is taken in the slide and has been sent to the pathological department of Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) for testing.
Barooah expressed his gratitude to Ima to take such an initiative in the tea park area and stated that it was the first screening camp that was with Ima and Abita held at the Circle Panitola.
He further said that such initiatives will be carried out in 6 circles Abita Zone 1 for the benefit of women living in tea gardens.
