Ranchi: The weather in Jharkhand is likely to be exposed to partially under the effect of Gulab Cyclone which makes landing near the north coast of Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha on Sunday night.
Even though the cyclone storm line is around 250 km from Jharkhand, the Ranchi IMD office has issued a yellow category warning for the country and said thunder and lightning isolated possibilities for the next 48 hours.
Warning continues for 24 hours for the state of the southern state.
According to a hourly bulletin issued by the IMD, light rainfall will occur in most places while the rainfall is very heavy and very severe it is likely to be in remote places in the South Chhattisgarh, heavy to falling very hard in insulated places with Odisha , Telgalana and Vidarbha and heavy rainfall in places isolated above West Bengal and North Coastal and Chhattisgarh.
Forecasts do not include Jharkhand, but satellite images show cloud movements spread over the country.
Under the influence of peripheral storm cyclones, scattered rainfall predicted in most countries, except for seven northwestern district, Monday.
During 72 hours ahead, extensive rainfall is predicted throughout the state.
On Sundays, isolated rainfall is recorded in several districts with a slight increase in the minimum and maximum temperature.
Head of IMD, Ranchi, Abhishek Anand said the yellow category warning was issued after the possibility of thunder during the Cycline Gulab.
