New Delhi: The Ministry of India’s Meteorology has issued an orange warning for Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir, and Yellow Alert for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh for Tuesday with heavy rain warnings.
The red warning has been issued to Conkan and Goa, and Maharashtra Tengah, while the orange sibling warning has been issued for Gujarat, the parts of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Assam, he said.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has four color-coded alerts based on the intensity of extreme weather events and removes it in the order of green, yellow, orange and red.
IMD said that yellow alert was also issued for Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Kerala.
After the resurrection of the Southwest Monsun, on Sunday, some parts of the country have experienced heavy rain while some witness storms and lighting.
IMD said that with heavy heavy rain expected in isolated places on Conkan and Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya on Tuesday.
Heavy rain is also expected in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Vidarbha in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Kerala and Mahe on Tuesday, said IMD.
Remote places in Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Gangetic Bengal, Assam, Mizoram, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Andhra Pradesh Beach, Rayersema, and Telangana , and Yanam can witness the storm and lighting, he added.
On Sunday, flash floods triggered by heavy rain swept the building and cars in tourist attractions because bad weather also caused the closing of the airport in Himachal Pradesh.
At least 18 people were killed in Rajasthan and 10 in Uttar Pradesh, according to reports received on Sunday night, and the toll road could be higher.
