Mumbai: Immediately, ‘Agriculture’ will be one of the subjects to be taught in the school curriculum in Maharashtra.
The state government of Maharashtra State Council for Education Research and Training Institute (MSCERT) and Maharashtra Board of Agriculture, Education and Research (McAER) together to prepare a curriculum.
The decision was taken at a meeting with the Ministry of Education and Agriculture Department on Wednesday in front of Varsha Gaikwad and Dadji Bhuse, and senior bureaucrats.
Bhuse said that the inclusion of agriculture in the school curriculum would not only create interest in the agricultural sector among the students but also created agricultural commitment in rural areas while creating a social commitment to the farmer community.

While Gaikwad said that the Ministry of Education and Agriculture would jointly prepare the syllabus.
“We have instructed both departments to prepare the syllabus by maintaining the age and intelligence of students,” he said.
