Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has set a high bar – literally sky-high – because it plans to launch a lot of Gujarat Global (VGGS) Pre-Vibrant attractions that will release the busy activities in the Gujarat sky.
The State Civil Aviation Department, in relation to the Department of Tourism, is in the final stage of planning to start the helicopter joyrides in the sky over Ahmedabad City.
The state is also committed to finally starting its own air ambulance service, providing helicopters hire people to visit the places of religious or tourist attractions and most importantly, restart the AHmedabad-Kevadiya sea plane.
The top sources in the state government say the approval needed to operate this service has been guaranteed from the Indian Airport Authority (AAA) and other Central Government Institutions and these attractions will be launched before the 2022 VGGS edition scheduled for January.
In 2019, the state government bought a magnificent Bombardier Challenger 650 aircraft with a cost of Rs 191 Crore.
Super King beechcraft plane, which was used for high-ranking officials over the past 20 years before the bombardier plane was purchased, it would be converted to air ambulance.
“All the approval needed for this has been secured because it turns the plane to become an air ambulance,” TII official said.
The large amphibious aircraft services were published between Ahmedabad and the statue of the union in Kevadiya in Narmada Regency could not last too long and stopped within a few weeks after launched last October.
Launched in the midst of many fanfare, sea aircraft services operated by private airlines, have been suspended several times since they were launched in October 2020 and did not operate at this time.
“This time, the State Civil Aviation Department will operate services between Sabarmati Riverfront and Kevadiya,” said the source.
In what will give a big boost for recreational activities at Ahmedabad, the government will start the helicopter joyrides in the Heaven Ahmedabad on weekends.
“Helicopters tend to take off and land from several points along the river bank,” officials said.
This same helicopter will be leased to people during business days, officials said.
“There are many families who will be interested in visiting religious places such as Ambaji or Dwarka or other places where there is no air connectivity like now.
These people will be able to hire this helicopter for a week,” said government officials.
