New Delhi: Immediate Ration Shops or Fair Price Shops (FPS) will have the option to work as a Public Service Center, which can be used by beneficiaries to pay utility bills, collecting PAN commission services and passports.
The Ministry of Food and E-Governance of CSC India (CSC) signed an agreement for this on Monday.
The Ministry of Food says this will help increase the revenue of ration dealers and beneficiaries of subsidized food materials will get this service close to their homes.
CSC will now identify proper activities that can be provided in ration stores so this can work as a CSC service center.
CSC will bind with the state government to sign bilateral MoU to provide access to ration shop dealers who are interested in digital SEVA portal (DSP) for shipping CSC services.
“All countries have been advised to explore the possibility of increasing FPS business income and opportunities by allowing them to provide CSC services after a thorough test,” said the food Ministry.
In addition, ration card services are provided by the State and UTS such as applications for new cards, updating existing ration cards, Aadhaar seeding requests, inspection of the status of the availability of rations and complaints registration can be explored by countries through additional options.
“This is the wisdom of the state government that will ensure the due diligence regarding data security, compliance with legal provisions and other relevant guidelines,” the ministry said.
