Impact pandemic? Women’s job seekers fell 34% by 2021

Mumbai: Not only has more women losing jobs compared to men during a pandemic, but also fewer women who return to work.
The number of women who actively seek jobs every month is reduced by three million between 2019 and 2021, the latest bulletin said from the Center to monitor the Indian economy (CMIE) and data center and economic analysis (Ceda).
CMIE data shows that Indian Urban has 22.1% less women employed by 2021 than in 2019.
However, while 9.52 million women are actively looking for jobs every month in 2019, this only decreased by 6.52 million on Year 2021.
It is based on wise CMIE a series of monthly work time that returns to January 2019.
This is different from men’s labor trends, CMIE data said.
The number of male workers was actively looking for work in 2021 up 19.7% in Urban India and 14.9% in Indian countryside (compared to 2019).
The fewer trends women who are looking for refunds are observed in India and Indian countryside.
In Indian Urban, only 2.57 million women were actively looking for jobs every month in 2021 compared to 3.87 million in 2019 (a decrease of 33.7%), CMIE data showed.
In Indian countryside, only 3.95 million women were actively looking for work in 2021 compared to 5.16 million by 2020 and 2021 (23.5% less).
A decrease in men’s work in a quarter sees an increase that is comparable to the number of men actively looking for work.
Similar trends are not seen among women.
Four states see more than 50% of the average decrease in monthly women’s work in 2021 than in 2019.
It is Tamil Nadu (50.9%), Goa (56%), J & K (61%), and Punjab ( 57.9%).
Except for Jharkhand, all East Indian states (West Bengal, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh) registered a significant increase in women’s work in 2021 above 2020.
Unlike men’s work, there are also urban-rural divisions when it comes to women’s work in the country That, data shows.
The average women’s work in Indian urban areas in 2021 was 6.9% lower than 2020 and 22.1% lower than the pre-pandemic year, 2019.
In Indian countryside, however, women’s work in 2021 was 9.2% higher than 2020 and only 0.1% lower than 2019.
Therefore, women’s work suffered a significant reversal in Indian urban since the pandemic.
