New Delhi: The government has made important decisions for the welfare of agriculture and farmers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday, while noting that the RS 23,000 Crore package was also approved to strengthen the war against Covid-19 pandemic.
In his tweets after he led the Union cabinet meeting, Modi noted that agricultural infrastructure funds could now be used to strengthen the Agricultural Product Market Committee (APMC) and interest subventions will also be given.
The Covid-19 package will help make children’s care unit settings, ICU beds, oxygen storage, ambulances and drugs in each district, said Modi.
The Union Cabinet on Thursday approved the RS 23,123 Crore financial package to improve the health infrastructure in this country to combat Covid pandemics.
APMC Mandis will also be eligible to utilize financial support from the Crore RS 1 agricultural infrastructure fund to expand the market capacity set and provide better facilities for farmers.
