Bhubaneswar: Komisionce police on Saturday created a green corridor to transport severe elderly elderly patients from SCB Medical College and hospitals in the Cuttack to Biju Patnik International Airport (BPIA) here.
Patients, Indramani Pani, are Mr.
Banchhanidhi Pani, an IAS officer from the state and Commissioner of Municipal Corporation.
It takes an ambulance just 27 minutes to reach the airport.
Then the patient was flown by air ambulance for a letter in Gujarat for further treatment.
He was treated in the SCB Medical College and hospital medicine ward for the past few days.
The ambulance brought the patient to leave the hospital at 9.48 in the morning on Saturday.
Traffic wing vehicles drive ambulances until they reach the airport.
Pilot vehicles ensure that the route is clear for the ambulance movement.
Bhubaneswar ACP Traffic Swastik Panda said they took the shortest route.
“We brought an ambulance to the airport through Hanspal, Vani Vihar, Acharya Vihar, Jaydev Vihar at National Highway-16, Kalinga Stadium, 120 Infantry Battalion, Rabindra Mandap Square, AG Square and Capital Hospital Square,” Panda said.
Ambulance reached the airport at 10:15 a.m.
“Because the green corridor made for an ambulance, it only takes 27 minutes.
During rush hour, it took at least one hour to reach the airport from Cuttack,” he added.
Sources said Police Commissioner of the Twin City had created 11 green corridors for the hassle free ambulance movement that brought critical patients.
On December 11, it has created a green corridor for Patra Badrinlayaran, former Minister and Sitting MLA from the Ghasipura Constituency in Keonjhar Regency, from a private hospital at the airport.
