New Delhi: Australian economist Sean Turnell’s wife has issued appeal to the Myanmar military authority to free her husband as a serious threat of Covid who influenced the colonial era prison where he had been stored since February 6.
, Turnell Ha Vu’s wife has posted its appeal on Facebook, where he said the state government of Myanmar has issued orders that say that detainees will be released due to the danger of Covid in prison.
“Please, I beg you, let my husband, Sean Turnell, released now.
He hasn’t vaccinated so at a big risk if he caught Covid, especially because of his personal medical history,” he had written.
Ha has written that he does not want this disease to anyone, the generals or their families or anyone, because it is a terrible disease and the same thing is considered for the Turnell family.
“Insein is increasingly becoming a dangerous place with reported death caused by Covid-19.
I beg you to let Sean back to Australia,” he said.
He has added that if this is impossible, Turnell is released and stored under house arrest.
“Sean is a citizen who binds law, he won’t run away from you and will only leave your country with your permission,” he said.
Turnell’s lawyer said the prosecution needed it for the case of the official secret case against Aung San Suu Ki and it was better to keep him alive.
“I begged you to accept my request, a request from a desperate wife worrying for her husband’s health,” Ha said.
So far, all efforts by the Australian government and the wider community have failed to secure Turnell’s release.
Respected and preferred academics that specialize in trade and development and have written books received well about subjects such as Chettiars in Burma, Turnell has become an old advisor to Aung San Suu Ki.
