Nagpur: After the National Highways Authority of India’s (NHAI) official announcement in the event of large scale tree felling at Ajni for projected inter-modal channel (IMS), town’s environmentalists issued a media release on Wednesday.Replying into NHAI’s allegations of”environmentalists deceiving the taxpayers,” the launch worried that IMS had been a multi- stage project rather than restricted to only stage one.
“Various files secured through Right to Information (RTI) and plausible sources have shown the IMS job in totality is dispersed within 446 acres.
The master program of advancement demonstration obtained by some segments of press also clearly reveals that the complete job is spread across 4 stages and almost 490 acres including property in which FCI godown exists.
Why are the government hiding these associated jobs from taxpayers enclosing the IMS-phase-1 around 44 acres of property?” Said the release conducted by environmentalist Anasuya Kale Chhabrani. The launch cited the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Rail Land Development of Authority (RLDA) and also NHAI clearly said the IMS project contains passenger, industrial and institutional facilities (office complicated, shopping complicated and resorts ).
The launch further pointed out , NHAI initially fooled the people by restricting just 1,900 trees at 44 acres.
“About insistence of both environmentalists, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) conducted a joint survey using NHAI and relied on 6,953 trees across exactly the identical location.
So much to their experience and innocence of heart and goals while implementing a job of this size,” it stated. While NHAI is denying around 40,000 trees would be boiled to the whole job, the activists said,”In case 44 acres of property is still holding 6,953 trees, and then just how many trees could be found around 446 acres, almost 10 days of 44 acres of green land.
Consequently, again and we have asked a people — jurisdiction established joint drawing of the complete amount of trees spread across the entire project property of 446 acres,” they said.
