Mumbai: NCB has in the last 10 months frozen assets worth more than Rs 11.9 Crore in eight cases under the smugglers and foreign exchange manipulators (confiscation of property).
8 This case is where the anti-drug agent previously caught 76 people, including the actor Rhea Chakraborty, Ejaz Khan and Gaurav Dixit, but no actor property had been frozen.
Among the 8 properties, NCB has received confirmation in 7 properties of competent authority.
“This property is frozen in cases where the number of commercial drugs is confiscated or punishment in this case more than 10 years,” said an NCB officer.
This “polluted” property, some of the ones obtained or generated using crime results, are also frozen under ACT.
“We have presented a frozen property documents before competent authority.
He asked for an explanation from both parties in one month.

NCB has confiscated 5.42 kg of mephedrone, metamfetamine 990GM, 2GM heroin, 6.1kg Ephedrine and 5.6kg clonazepam.
They also found a ‘laboratory’ under the house of Bhujwala, a large savings of packaging materials and other equipment used to produce contraband goods, said source.
The Department of Income Tax, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Mumbai Police tended to start a separate process against Pathan Gang.
“While the IT department will investigate the seizure of Rs 2 Crore from Pathhan’s house, Ed will look into the an-gle and the police will register the case under the ARM acting because two illegal weapons recovered from Pathan,” A NCB official said before.

“After confidence is secured in any case, frozen property will be attached.
The defendant has the choice to approach the Bombay High Court,” the officer said.
If the defendant, whose property will be frozen, is in prison, his lawyer represents him in front of competent authority.
