New Delhi: More than 14 Lakh Agricultural Workers have registered with the Eshram Portal of the Ministry of Manpower and Employment since launched last month.
In 15 days since the registration began, a total of 26.6 lakh workers between sets of skills and countries have registered on the portal, with the highest number of registration entering from the agricultural sector, followed by registration of 4.9 lakh from building and construction workers, and almost 1.4 lakh registration of domestic workers and households.
Bihar, Ministry officials told TII, had the highest number of registration so far, with 6.4 lakh workers register on the national database of unorganized workers until September 9, followed by 2.7 lakh registration.
To provide incentives to registration, the Ministry has announced that workers who register will be eligible to accept unintentional insurance cover from RS 2 Lakh in terms of death or permanent disability.
