Coimbatore: At least 173 people were tested positive for Covid-19 in the district on Tuesday, when for the first time in more than 20 days Chennai, with 189 kasing, topped the district and the country in fresh amounts of cases.
A little decline in cases has emerged as a breath for health officials.
According to P Aruna, Deputy Director of Health Services, Kasel has become a plateau since the Onam Festival.
“Strict action, including in the district border, and drive consciousness has helped us still check the recent surge in this case.
Vigil must be continued,” he said.
The vast drive vaccination was carried out in the district for the past few days to invest the maximum number of residents.
The district is getting closer to a half-a-lakh vaccine every day.
District collectors have also increased the number of round vaccination camps up to 15, thanks to the arrival of a stable dose, starting 10 before.
On Tuesday, more than 13,000 vaccine doses were given to 15 centers.
Meanwhile, 185 Covid patients were excluded from various care centers in the district that day, carrying active cases down to 2,028.
While 2,36,077 people were tested positive for viruses in the district until now, 2,31,783 of them had recovered.
However, Covid-19 victims jumped to 2,266 with the country including three more deaths that occurred in the district in the media bulletin.
In the Tirupur district, 67 people were tested positive for the virus that day, taking a case tally to 90,305, where 88,607 had recovered.
With 87 patients running out, active cases in Tirupur have been dipped in 767.
The district also recorded two Covid deaths, pushing toll 931 toll.
