The main causes of concerns on cell nida cyber are the lack of ranked inspector officers, who are authorized to implement the probe in the case of online fraud submitted under the IT Law.
Cyber cells, said sources, only have 15-16 sub-inspectors and police rank officials.
Police Commissioner GB Nagar has asked permission from the top police headquarters to increase cyber cell capacity.
The commissioner is believed to have proposed that around 150 police were included in cyber cells along with ACP level officers.
With the absence of senior officers, complaints nested with cyber cells are usually referred to the local police station, said the source.
“The case then lingers turn on.
Because many documents are involved in such cases, it often slows the probe,” said a police officer.
