Hyderabad: Telangana has succeeded in reaching ten states that make a major contribution to tax goods and services (GST).
It has come to sixth in the country with 2,863 taxpayers who will be placed by the Council of Indirect and Customs (CBITC) with the letter appreciation.
Because GST launch has completed four years, the analysis shows that Maharashtra has the highest number of GST payers in 15,131 followed by Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, West Bengal and Telangana.
However, this does not help get GST compensation from the center.
“We have been waiting for more fees than Rs 3,000 Crore with the center,” said a senior Telangana official.
Among the taxpayers from Telangana, 36% came from micro companies, 41% of small entrepreneurs and 11% of medium businesses.
Data has been collected by the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP).
NIPFP also shows that between July 2017and January 2020, RS 1,874 Crore GST was avoided in the state and RS 805 Crore recovered.
Effectively, 43% of the tax avoided restored.
The State Planning Board of Vicechairman B Vinod Kumar said that buoyancy in a collection of taxes and recovery was always good in the state.
“Even when Andhra Pradesh was united, the recovery of the Telangana District was good,” he said.
“People here obey the rules.” In fact, over the past four years, the state has seen 10% growth on GST every year.
During the financial year 2020-21 when locking impacts on economic growth, the GST collection fell compared to other major countries.
The GST collection data between April and August 2019-20 and 2020-21 showed that there was a decrease of 26.3% in the collection.
In 2019-20 countries collected Rs 15,949 Crore between April and August by opposing RS11,762 at 2020-21.
