In a week, hospitalization rose from 36 to 138 in the city

Gurgaon: The number of covid patients treated in hospitals has increased from 36 to 138 in the last seven days, when the city has reported 2,500 new cases on average.
But inpatient levels, according to experts, are still low – only 0.7% from 17,539 active cases on Friday.
The city has 2,712 ICU and oxygen beds provided for covid patients, but only 90 of them are occupied.
However, the data of the Ministry of Health does not include covid patients from the district and other states.
If they are added to the calculation, the city currently will have 258 Covid patients who claim to be in various hospitals.
Until now, this 45 patients came from Delhi, 25 of Uttar Pradesh, 23 of various other states and 27 of other districts Haryana.
Experts show that in the three waves of pandemic, hospitalization usually surges after 10 to 15 days from a certain peak phase.
“Remember, the peak has not arrived in this wave.
So, hospitalization will rise further.
We have seen that patients usually become serious 7-10 days after positive testing.
So, people cannot let their guard down,” said Virender Yadav, Head of medical officer.
In the past two weeks, Covid cases have soared with leaps and limits.
“At present, we have 15 covid patients in our hospital, including 10 stable with moderate to moderate symptoms.
The remaining five are in the ICU.
But it is important to note that these five patients came to hospitals with comorbidity such as cancer, kidney failure, And heart disease.
We test it before entering, and they are found to have covid.
People should not take this surge lightly, “said Dr.
Swadesh Kumar, consultant and head of the emergency department and medical services at Narayana Hospital.
Only a few patients are in ventilators like now.
“We have seen a surge in number of hospitalizations Inpatient.
“The virus affects the most vulnerable people, such as parents, those who have comorbidities and those who are not fully vaccinated.
Most of these patients only need oxygen and there is no sophisticated respiratory support.
Until now, the level of acceptance in this phase is less than 25% of the previous wave.
“The doctor also urged people to vaccinate the earliest.
Shuchin Bajaj, Founder-Director of the Ujala Cygnus Group of Hospitals, said, “Omicron waves are good at us.
We have seen 5-6% inpatient levels in big cities.
This is clearly a disease and dangerous because we still don’t know the effect The long term.
