Bengaluru: While the average daily case of Covid-19 in Bengaluru Urban has floated between 300 and 400 for the past few weeks, the number of micro detention zones in the city has increased from 80 to 101 in the past week.
Zone Mahadevapura has the highest number – 29 as on Thursday – from such detention zones, while the Western zone is at least three o’clock.
Gaurav Gupta, head of the BBMP commissioner, suggested that the number could rise and it was not a reflection of the increasing case.
“We are trying to intensify the detention steps and increase the detention zone to help monitor positive cases,” Gupta said.
“We plan to monitor infected people until they recover and thus limit the spread of the virus.” Pikayat officers say they now form a micro detention zone if even three people test positive.
Initially, the detention zone was formed after a cluster – 10 or more positive cases – detected.
The purpose of increasing the detention zone is to monitor each pocket and contain the spread of Covid-19 more efficiently.
Randeep DEV, Special Commissioner (Health), BBMP, said, “In cities such as Bengaluru, we must ensure that the dissemination of the disease is contained at the micro level.
All the purpose of the detention zone is to create awareness and to realize behavioral changes between residents.” BBMP officials Say some detention zones have three clusters each of three cases in the same building.
High cluster at the intersection of Vijnanapura and Vijnananagara Wards.
There are six active clusters here.
Banaswadi intersection, Horamavu and HBR Layout Wards also have seven active clusters.
“Detention is very important along with a laming general area and other public facilities,” Randeep said.
So far, civil administration has not released the names of micro detention zones in the city but are in talks about making it public.
After data comes out, residents can be more careful, and violations of detention zones can also be avoided.
Delta variant is present in 364 samples: the sequencing of the genome from the infected swab sample has confirmed the existence of the Delta Coronavirus variant in 364 cases, the country’s Daily Covid Bulletin on Thursday revealed.
This took the total number of samples with a Delta variant to 1,089.
Members of the Covid-19 team of all genomic sequencing (WGS) said this sample was processed in June.
“This sample of all states, including Bengaluru.
Sequencing genomes are routine exercises that are being carried out to detect a new variant of the virus,” said a member.
Members added, “This means that the Delta variant is still circulating.
The appropriate behavior of Covid needs to be taken seriously.
Lowering a guard can cause another surge.” Karnataka reported 2,052 new cases on Thursday.
