Bicholim: The Taluka Office of the Department of Water Resources has experienced an estimate of RS 30 Lakh’s loss due to the destruction of the steel pedestrian pump and bridge station on Chapora in Sal Village.
At present, the bridge is in a bad condition and is dangerous to use.
The source said that repairs will be taken soon.
The bridge was also destroyed during the flood in 2019.
Farmers from Mayem, Sal, Advalpal, Amona, Pilega, Pale and other villages from Bicholim saw a massive loss, the numbers would certainly be ensured after Pancanama, officials said from the Zonal Agricultural Office ( ZAO).
Flood waters also damage many agricultural land and bandharas and need urgent improvements.
Meanwhile, officials from ZAO have begun to examine agricultural land and plantations in the villages in Bicholim to assess losses.
On Saturday the team led by Bicholim Zao Neelima Gawas along with other officials checking areas such as Sal, Menkurem, Dhumacem and Mayem.
“The Ministry of Agriculture will provide financial assistance to the victims and all farmers are asked to submit this,” Alma said.
