New Delhi: Indira Gandhi International Airport has introduced e-boarding facilities to ensure “digital travel without contact and without contact” for passengers, the operator said on Monday.
The e-boarding gate has been set in terminal 3 and terminal 2 while the spread is ongoing in terminal 1, said dial.
The source at the airport said five such facilities would function each at T2 and T3 and four in T1 in the coming weeks.
Video Kumar Jaipuriar, Pall’s CEO, said the pandemic made him more challenging to meet the expectations of travelers because health and safety problems had increased.
“Dial has responded to the challenges and establishes benchmarks with innovative solutions, such as e-boarding gates that have been installed at the airport.
Our team conducted several trials, by following the Covid-19 guidelines issued by various institutions.
The only goal is to maintain Our passengers are safe at any cost, “said Jaipuriar.
The e-boarding gate without contact is equipped with a card scanner, which allows passengers to flash their physical trajectory or boarding to verify flight details so that they can continue for security checks, calls in a statement.
It adds that passengers who get their boarding pass verified by scanning in e-gates do not need to show their documents again.
There are three different lanes at the e-boarding gate – width, ‘normal’ and double.
The width e-gate is for passengers who carry heavy luggage or those who are reduced by mobility.
Passengers only carry hand baggage can run through the designated e-gates as ‘normal’.
Double options will offer a wide and ‘normal’ lane.
Dial said Touchless procedure not only minimizes touching the surface of the facility and interaction among people in Covid-19 era, but also reduces the time to rise.
“The latest technology has reduced 50% of the transaction time, produces a lower queue, and also increases the security aspects where the dormitory card details are verified by the airline again,” he added.
Meanwhile, the operator confirmed that he had also installed an electronic processing kiosk at the T2 entrance gate.
For the next few weeks, they will be installed in terminal 3 and terminal 1 too.
“It will further reduce the validation time of travel documents for CISF personnel significantly and offer a smooth and non-end digital travel experience to end to the passengers,” Dial said.
