In front of Teacher Nanak Jayanti, President SGPC wrote to PM urging him to open the Kartarpur corridor

Amritsar: Shiroman Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Aunt Jagir Kaur on Friday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged him to reopen the corridor Karttarpur.
“The government has allowed meetings and political and religious events with the Covid Protocol 19; so it also had to reopen the Kartarpur corridor for a pilgrimage as soon as possible,” said Kaur.
Meanwhile, a new committee has been formed to require a re-elocation of Kartarpur’s corridor on the commemoration of the birth of 552D Teacher Nanak Dev on November 19.
Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor of the Sangarah Committee (SKSCSC) said that it would take his movements to cause the international platform if the request was not fulfilled on November 19.
When talking to TOI on Friday, SRSCSC Sulinderpal members Singh Talibpur said they had formed the 13 member committee to re-demand the corridor Karterpur on the commemoration of the birth of Nanak Dev teacher in November 19 so that followers can travel to Pakistan and return on the same day after paying Sincerely at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib.
Another member of SKSCSC, Balwinder Singh Pakhoke, said they had offered prayers on the international border in Dera Baba Nanak to reopen the earliest Kartarpur corridor.
“If the government does not accept our request, we will spread our movements throughout the country to produce pressure on the government,” Pakhoke said.
The Talibpur claimed that they had received a large response from foreign Sikh bodies that had convinced them to throw their weight behind the SKSCSC movement.
“After November 19, we will hold a meeting and also have a virtual discussion with our supporters abroad to write further action,” he said.
SKSCSC has also expressed a booking on the visit of Jathedar Officers takhand, Giani Harpreet Singh, to Pakistan to observe the anniversary of Baba Nanak’s death through the Border of Tanah Attari in September.
Talibpur said the Pakistani government had observed ‘Jyoti Jot Diwas’ (birthday of death) Teacher Nanak Dev at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur Sahib, in the country on September 22.
“So, Jathedar’s reasonable consideration should be going to Pakistan.
Through Corridor Kartarpur and not through the land boundaries of Attari.
One of our members, Harpartap Singh Gill, also received an invitation to attend a religious ceremony but he denied going through the border of Tanah Attari,” he said.
