PANAJI: Maximum score by a student in Physics at 2021 Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET), the results stated on Tuesday, is 59 out of 75.
But officials connect the decline in scores to ‘normal fluctuations’, and say that it is not at all connected With a pandemic.
By 2020, 70 is the best score in physics.
VN Shet, Chairman of the GCET Committee 2021, said that many students have not tried questions, maybe because of confusion because the tests like Neet and Jee have a negative sign for the wrong answer, while GCET has no rules.
However, having a combined score of 131 of 150 in physics and mathematics, Panaji Resident Swate Rau Volaulicar appeared above, and qualified to seek acceptance to college engineering and the flow of choice in the state.
However, Mushifund Aryan Middle School students, said that he aims to join the National Institute.
“I will answer Bitsat and Jee (continued), and depending on the results, I will decide which flow I want to chase,” said Swatit, son of Shripad Civil Engineer Rau Valaulicar and Homemaker Shambhavi.
Along with Swatit, Joshua Barreto, Sairaj Ghosarwadkar and Manali Manjarekar have the best Mathematics score of 73 of 75 on GCET.
Sairaj has a 70 highest score in the state of chemistry, while Aditya Bhat has the best score of 59 in physics.
GCET, the qualification exam to sit in the engineering and pharmaceutical seats in Goa, answered by 2,829 students in all, said Director of Technical Education Vivek Kormat.
This test was held at 16 central this year on July 29 and 30, after delay in his behavior because of the pandemic situation.
“Last year, 2,954 registered students and 2.817 appeared for GCET, so there was no impact on the numbers because of the pandemic,” Kamat, responded to the question.
He said that Aicte has allowed college engineering to start classes for first year students on October 25, when the reception process in Goa will be completed.
Kamat said that the decrease in the highest score in physics as against last year was due to “normal fluctuations” and could not be associated with a pandemic in any way.
“Every year, students are different, the papers are different and the situation is different,” he said.
Bhat said that at least around 100 students were seen missing questions, they were not sure in GCET 2021, which could affect their scores.
“Students must be guided by the teacher.
In Neet and Jee, there is a negative sign if you try your question and answer it turns out wrong.
For GCET, there is no negative sign,” Bhat said.
The Chairperson of the Acceptance Committee, Gaitonde wasped, said that the process of receiving the application to enter the degree program is expected to start next week.
