Panaji: In the first half of this year, 460 riders in Goa have lost their SIM after attracting threemonth’s suspension for mobile use while driving or driving their vehicles.
“Drivers and two-wheeled riders continue to be captured using cellphones and strict punishments are needed for the same thing.
When the actions of new motorized vehicles come into force, a sharp fine can be a prevention for them,” said Goa Dysp (traffic), Salim Shaikh.
Accelerate continues to be one of the highest violations recorded from January to June, as a consequence of which, 912 licenses have been suspended in this duration.
The numbers distributed by the transportation department revealed that all of which, 1,831 driving licenses have been suspended because of various violations in the first half of 2021.

New Motorized Vehicle Law (Amendment), 2019, which should come true earlier this year has not been implemented.
In July this year, the government decided to postpone it next year, after the assembly selection concluded.
New laws come into force on September 1, 2019, and all countries are expected to implement it.
But after several governments, including Gujarat and Uttarakhand, raised concerns about some fine hiking, they lowered the penalty for certain traffic violations.
