Ranchi: The temperature of the night time will begin dipping the country on New Year’s Eve because the cloud cover starts receding, Ranchi IMD’s office said on Thursday.
With Western disturbances, North and North Air Westerly expected to sweep, reducing the minimum by some notches during the weekend, the weather scientists here said.
Ranchi and most parts also tend to watch thick fog early on Friday and Saturday with low visibility, he added.
Abhishek Anand, weather scientists at the IMD office here, said, “The cloud cover will recede on Friday morning and the winter sun is likely to come out after 11 o’clock in the morning.

IMD also said the daytime temperatures had dropped below normal five degrees in the state.
