In Kolkata’s St Xavier College, Cut-Off Crosses 98%

Kolkata: The first Merit list published by St Xavier’s College has indicated the nature of the cut-off sign that will dominate the leading universities in the city this year after a high score recorded by students on the three boards.
With Cisce and CBSE students who print a little more than HS students, colleges have mapped a separate set-off set for students from each board to ensure the field of playing levels.
Cut-off in several subjects was higher than last year by 1.5-2%.
State-run colleges and universities will publish a list of achievements after August 27 when the application’s submission deadline ends.
According to the Merit St Xavier list on Monday night, the highest cut-off is in English and the economy in more than 98%.
The lowest is in Bengali where it ranges from 70% and 76%.
In science subjects such as physics, statistics, economics, cut-off more than 97% while in the subjects of humanities such as English and sociology, the cut-off is around 97% -98%.
In BCC, the cut-off for ISC students was 92.5% in the morning session while the CBSE was 94.5% and 80% HS.
At night, 93% for ISC students, 95.5% for CBSE and 82% for HS.
The difference is Stark in several other subjects such as Bachelor of Management Studies, Sociology and General Course BA, while the differences are marginalized in mathematics, physics, chemistry, statistics, microbiology, biotechnology and English.
This year, the three boards – Cisce, CBSE and HS – have canceled class-XII examination along with X class X board and compiled a different formula to arrive at the results.
Students who have enrolled in other universities feel that unless they also adopt a series of different cut-offs for three boards, the list of services can be dominated by ISC board students and CBSE with HS students who lost.
Last year, on the contrary it had happened with HS students who scored more than rival council students who gave them excellence in college acceptance.
ST Xavier’s College Principal Dominic Savio said: “We want to attract students to merit, especially in science subjects, from government schools in Kolkata and suburbs.” The second list will be published on September 2 or 3.
