Agra: The Mathura Court on Tuesday rejected Plea Guarantee of Kerala Siddique Kappan journalist, which was ordered under the Act Action (Prevention) that violated the law (UPA).
Kappan was arrested, with the other three, while they went to Hathru to meet family members from the alleged rape of gangs and murder victims on October 5 last year.
After hearing the argument from prosecution and defense for two days, an additional session of Judge Anil Kumar Pandey rejected Plea Guarantee on Tuesday.
The court mainly took into account the alleged material collected against journalists during an investigation while denying its guarantee.
Speaking with Toi, Kappan lawyer will Mathews, who argued at the Mathura court on Tuesday, said, “We hope to get a guarantee with the Light of the Supreme Court asking us to approach the High Court to get a bail.

In its order, the court noted that the accusation of Kappan was that he was with allegations together “commitment actions that promote hostility in society and influence communal harmony directly related to disrupting the peaceful atmosphere and inciting riots”.
It has also alleged that KAPPAN “has received foreign funds for the purpose of damaging the nation’s integrity”.
The court stated, “Even though Kappan proposed that he would go to Hathras in the capacity of a journalist, a news identity card Tejas was found with him when this arrest and organization was closed since December 2018.
During the investigation, it was also found that the Defendant worked for the popular Indian front (PFI) and have pampered themselves in anti-national activities.
