Puducherry: One in three swab samples tested in Puducherry back positive for Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours.
Of the 1,570 samples tested, 489 positive samples, registering the 31.2% of the level of participation.
The number of samples tested every day has fallen half on Monday.
The health care authority tested more than 3,000 samples a day for the past four days.
The number of active cases reached 1,722 on Monday after 17 patients recovered.
Puducherry headquarters reported the maximum new cases (438) followed by Karaikan (49), with Mahe and Yanam referring to one case respectively.

The first dose has been given to 8.85 lakh people, while 5,8lakh people have received the two doses.
On Monday, the health care authorities provided the first dose to 979 people and the second dose became 858 people.
