In revolving-door politics, more than a dozen Netas sides

Dehradun: Aya Ram, Ram Style, PHIR AYA RAM …
very quickly has entries and out of Turncoats in Uttarakhand in running this year’s poll that sometimes even confused party members.
Sans ideology, “Revolving-Door” politics “in the state of the hill has become a phenomenon in itself this election season.
Because of an unprecedented ‘political migration’, said poll analyst, more than 15 leading politicians have changed the side before the election.
After more than 40 years in Congress, the former head of Kishore Upadhyay went to BJP and immediately made a candidate from Tehri.
In an instant, sitting BJP MLA from Tehri, Dhan Singh Negi, joined Congress and now struggling against Upadhyay.
In 2017, Sarita Arya and Sanjiv Arya fought in Nainital, the first in congressional tickets and the last of BJP.
In 2022, they were once again pitted with each other from the same seats but this time, they had exchanged parties.
The most widely discussed switch has been from Harak Rawat, which spent five years in BJP as Minister of Forest, recently removed from the party, and returned to Congress.
He now campaigned for Congress in constituencies.
Polling-watchers say opportunism is rampant in Uttarakhand because this is a small state where wind-ow for limited election opportunities.
“Uttarakhand politicians have a five-year opportunity to take positions and power.
That is why, ideology often goes for throw,” said the Udit Ghildiyal analyst.
