Hyderabad: In five Indian pharmaceutical majors have joined their hands to conduct clinical testing phase-III of Molnupiravir’s investigate anti-virus drug in Covid-19 patients who are lightweight.
The company includes DR Reddy Laboratory Ltd, Cipla Ltd., Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd, Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
The company has signed a collaboration agreement, as part of where they will sponsor, supervise and monitor clinical trials in India, they said in a joint statement on Tuesday.
According to the company, this collaboration is the first for clinical trials in the Pharma India industry aimed at investigating other treatment lines in the collective war against pandemics.
Following the approval of the clinical trial protocol by the drug controller General India (DCGI), the trial was scheduled to be carried out throughout the country between June and September in the outpatient arrangement in 1,200 patients suffering from Covid-19 suffering.
“In accordance with the direction of the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) Standard Control Organization Center (CDSCO), Dr.
Reddy will conduct clinical trials using their products and four other pharmaceutical companies will be asked to show the equality of their products to the product used by Dr.
Reddy in its clinical trials,” Dr.
Reddy said in the submission of regulations.
“By successfully completing clinical trials, each company will independently approach regulatory authorities for approval to produce and supply Molnupiravir for Covid-19 treatment in India,” said a joint statement.
