Mumbai: For the first time since they were established, IIT has placed advertisements for recruitment based on the quota of faculty members.
The recruitment process, where IIT has autonomy, has been changed on the central command and new deadline.
Since 2019, the Ministry of Education (then called the HRD Ministry) has encouraged highly funded educational institutions to implement a reservation policy in recruiting.
This time, IIT has postponed the ministry.
Advertisements come out to employ members of the SC / SC / OBC / EWS in all institutions, including IIT.
A letter issued by the Ministry of Education in Augustend confirmed that reservation rules were obeyed and vacancies “especially in the scheduled caste, scheduled tribes and other backup classes” was filled on September 4, 2022.

“Filling hundreds of vacancies will not be impossible,” said a director.
While some institutions have advertised vacancies for a number of specific positions, others have registered all departments where there are at least one post that is not filled.
“Every IIT has followed the process itself.

But while IIT Bombay has advertised for 50 positions, IIT Madras has advertised for 49.
Others like IIT Delhi, Rookee, Hyderabad, Kharagpur has registered the department where there are vacancies, “said a dean (faculty).
All advertisements encourage women from disadvantaged backgrounds to also apply.
In June 2020, a committee set to suggest the implementation of orders at the central education institution said IIT was the institute of national interest and had to be released from the reservation.
It was said that the reservation problem was left to each iit board and if the quota in recruiting must be carried out, the position of professor and assistant professor was released.
