At least seven passengers on board were left dead and more than 50 people were injured, some of which were critically, as 12 Bogies from Bikaner Express which was bound by Guwahati slipped in Jalpaiguri Bengali West.
The last time the death of the passenger was reported in an accident on March 22, 2019.
Chairman of the Railroad Council V K Tripathi and the Director General rushed to the place.
Minister of Train Union Ashwini Vaishnaw also left for the site to take a stock situation.
