Udaipur: In the first in India, a rare ‘pink’ leopard was recently seen in the Ranakpur area, located in the hills of Aravalli Rajasthan Selatan.
Previous sightings of Leopard Pink were reported in South Africa in 2012 and 2019.
Locals in Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh claimed to sometimes see large cats – having strawberry colored coats – in various regions because of the area of pink forest areas.

Recently the photographer got the opportunity to capture women’s leopards on the camera.
“As a wildlife conservator, we aim to protect leopards by limiting human invasion to their territory,” Rathore added.
The Kumbhalgarh forest area stretches more than 600 SQKM.
Indian leopards usually have a tawny coat with black spots.
However, pink leopards have reddish brown skin and different spots compared to common leopards.
Strawberry coats from pink leopards are caused by erythromm – a genetic condition that causes excess red pigment production or underproduction of dark pigments – retired forest officers from Satish Sharma.
The conservator and photographer Based on Udaipur-based Wildlife Hitesh Motwani claimed to have captured the rare photos of Pink Leopard after Fourday search.
Motwani said women’s leopards were around five to six.
Spotting Pink Leopard in this region is a matter of pride and concern, said Conservationist Wildlife and WCCB Anil Rodgers.
