Hyderabad: In a rare example, a member of sitting parliament (MP) has been convicted of voters during the 2019 General Election.
TRS Lok Sabha MP Maloth Kavitha and his colleague was punished by the court session specifically for the MP & MLA case in Nampally.
The judge sentenced two to undergo a six-month imprisonment.
The judge, however, triggered them guarantees to appeal before a higher court.
Kavitha represents the Constituency of Mahabubabad at Lok Sabha.
This is the third case in several special court sessions for the MP & MLA case distributing prison terms to public representatives.
However, this was the first time sitting Lok Sabha MP had been punished and it was also to bribe voters in carrying out the election.

The two were present at the court when the verdict was said by the judge.
