Patna: With the state government expanded Covid restrictions and uncertainty that applies during reopening educational institutions even in February, several schools in the city have begun to make preparations to hold an annual examination online.
The school authority said they would turn to the online exam if further restrictions expanded considering Covid pandemics.
Most of the school in the city conducted a final exam in February and started a new academic session in April.
Fr Christu Savarirajan SJ, St Xavier Middle School, said school administration has made all the settings needed to hold an online check.
“We still hope that the school will be reopened before the start of the final exam.
However, if the need arises, we are ready to hold an online check,” he added.
St Karen Middle School, Seema Singh, said the school would take a test in virtual mode for class to IX and XI with the help of its own software.
“The teacher will upload paper questions to software and the link will be sent to students at a certain time.
Students must answer objective and subjective questions in a limited time.
For subjectively, they must answer the copy and upload images to the link,” he said.
Singh added that students’ monitoring in the online exam is quite difficult even if the camera is because there is always a blind point that cannot be monitored.
“There is an online test limit, but there is something better than not at all,” he said.
Ashfaque Iqbal, Deputy Principal of Bishop Scott Boy, said the school was ready for an online and offline annual exam.
“The teacher has finished his siblings and began taking a revised class.
We are waiting for further guidelines from the government before making calls on the final exam.
Offline mode is always a better choice.
However, we are ready to hold an online exam,” he said.
Mary Alphonsa, the Principal of Don Bosco Academy, said, “There is still time for the annual test and we are waiting for the government’s decision.
If the limitation of Covid is further extended, we will not have a choice but to hold an online exam.”
