In the middle of the LAC Row, Leh enhances oxygen infrastructure in the developed area

Leh: In the midst of continued defense with China, the administration is adding to the supply of oxygen in advanced areas by adding new plants, a step that will increase the fight against Covid-19 in the village of ‘Zero-Mile’ and distant residential areas north and east.
“We have a new oxygen factory that operates on the disc to the Nubra sub-division earlier this month and tenders have been given to other plants in the Nyoma sub-division to increase oxygen supply in this area.
Both are valued at a capacity of 100 LPM (liters per minute), “Word said Deputy Commissioner Ballasaheb Suse to Ti.
The discite is 113 km north of Leh and 11km from the Army Siachen Brigade headquarters.
This area has villages on the border with Pok in his Western wing.
Nyoma is 180km to the east of Leh and form a roadwead supply to villages in the Chushul and Indus sectors along the eastern part of LAC.
SUSE recently examined health service infrastructure in developed villages to take their Covid readiness inventory.
Administration also weighed the option to prepare plants in Tangtse, Chushul and Khaltse Brigade Headquarters, about 90 km south of Leh.
New plants will ensure the continuation of oxygen supply even in winter when road connectivity, especially with Nubra and Tangtse, become susceptible to thick snow and avalanches above high pass – Khardung La and Chang La.
Strict monitoring and medical planning by the district government has shifted oxygen deficiency in Leh despite cases of carelessness during the second wave.
The LadakH government has begun working on increasing the supply of oxygen right after the first wave has receded.
Leh and Cargil each have one oxygen plant in the government sector.
Leh has two more plants in the private sector.
One factory for the Zanskar Sub-division of the Cargil District was also being considered, the commissioner of the Saugat Division Biswas recently told TII.
