Bhubaneswar: Even when the government has not filled 17% of vacancies in various rankings of the Odisha police, cutting MLA across the party line expressed concern over the delay in the establishment of the station and new police posts in the state.
During a discussion at one hour in the Assembly, several MLA from BJD, BJP and Congress said there had been a burst in crime because of the inadequate police station in the state.
Legislative Party leader Narasingha Mishra said it was unfortunate that the government had not taken any action against this problem even as a Surya Narayan Patro speaker in the past directing the problem.
Responding to MLA’s question, the Minister of State for the House of Shankar Mishra said the problem of opening more police and postal stations in the state of the state’s consideration.
“We have received representations of various MLA for the opening of 68 new police stations and 103 leading posts.
The opening of the new police station and finalizing the police station is a long process.
We consider this problem,” Minister Mishra said.
Taking attention to MLA’s concern, the speaker directed Mishra to hold a meeting with the Secretary of the House, Director General of Police and the Branch of Crime on this issue and made a statement at home.
In a separate written reply to the house, Minister Mishra said as many as 11,456 posts from a different rating at the Odisha police have been empty on August 1, 2021.
Responding to the request of BJP MLA Ganesh Ram Sing Khuntia, the minister said the power of the Odisha police was currently standing at 56305 due to against Sanctions force 67,761 posts from different rankings.
While the overall job reached 16.9%, the level of vacancies in the rank of sub-inspector (SI) and inspectors were 39% and 23% respectively.
SIS and inspectors are considered the backbone of the police station when they do most of the investigation of evil.
Against the strength of sanctions 3399 sis, only 2072 SIS which is now in the state.
The strength of the approved and existing inspectors is 1077 and 829.
