Chandigarh: After Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Supremo Arvind Kejremwal promises 300 free electricity units for every household in Punjab if the party won the next assembly election, the leader of the Navjot Singh Sidhu congress made the same tone on Sunday.
Take it to Twitter, Sidhu said: “Punjab has provided 9000 crore subsidies but we have to do more for domestic power & industry which provides power at Rs 3-5 per unit instead of additional fees of Rs 10-12 per unit, along the supply 24 hours, along with no power cuts & free power (up to 300 units) ..
This can certainly be achieved.
“Earlier this week, Sidhu has locked the horn with the Chairman of Minister Amarinder Singh about this issue and even made a tweet-by-tweet advice about handling The crisis of power in the state.
Drawing comparisons with Delhi, Sidhu stated that the Delhi government only gave RS 1,699 Crore as a power subsidy.
He said that instead of copying Delhi’s model, the condition requires the original “punjab model”, not the model copied.
“If Punjab copies Delhi’s model, we will only get Rs 1,600 to Rs 2,000 Crore as subsidies,” he said in another tweet.
After the Kejriwal made an announcement to provide 300 free units, the leaders of the Punjab congress and the Amarinder Cabinet Minister accused him of stealing their ideas to offer the free power delivered by the party’s highest command to the Minister of Punjab as part of 18 public welfare initiatives.
to be taken before the next election.
