Muzaffarnagar: A 22-year-old sleeping student was electrocuted when he walked through an area flooded in the Shamli district on Wednesday, police said.
Nilesh Kumar, a Delhi resident, was on his way to provide a bed examination at a college in the rain in the Aryapuri area of the Shamli district.
Kumar lives in his uncle’s house in Shamli and comes from Delhi to attend the examination.
The police said the incident occurred when the electric voltage was high through the water flooded from the electricity pole with several hanging cables.
The young man died in place and the body was sent for post-mortem.
