Thiruvananthapuram: In the midst of increasing Covid-19 cases, the Kerala government on Friday decided to make classes online for Standard students 1 to 9 from January 21.
The decision was taken at the Covid-19 evaluation meeting chaired by the Head of Pinarayi Vijayan.
The government said the online class for students will begin on January 21 and continue for two weeks.
“The decision whether to continue with the form of online class or will not be taken after the second week of February.
School authorities will be authorized to turn off the class for two weeks if the institution becomes a cluster,” The Chief’s Minister’s Office said in the release.
Apart from school, the government has decided to provide assistance to the staff of the government to become pregnant and said work from home facilities will be provided for them.
“All official events of the government and public sector business must be held virtually,” said the broadcast.
The government has decided to ask the Jabianimala pilgrims who have ordered their slots from January 16 to reschedule their visit.
Evaluation meetings have also decided to limit the number of people in stores and malls and ask the district authorities to ensure social distance.
The meeting also directed the Ministry of Health and Education to jointly ensure that grade 10 students, 11 and 12 got vaccines in their school.
Kerala on Friday registered 16,338 fresh Covid-19 cases, increasing the Caseload state to 53.33,828.
