Nagpur / New Delhi: Minister of Transportation Road Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the first liquid gas filling station (LNG) in Nagpur on Sunday and said more use of alternative fuels such as LNG, CNG or Ethanol will bring concessions from soaring gasoline prices, now “Agitation” people.
Gadkari said the use of ethanol as a fuel vehicle will help save at least Rs 20 per liter even though the heat value is lower than gasoline.
The ministry tends to announce a policy for flexible fuel machines immediately, which will encourage car manufacturers to produce it.
These machines can run more than one fuel and also a fuel mixture.
The Minister said native fuel such as ethanol, methanol and BIO-CNG would provide a difficult competition to import crude oil and that was the only way to get the best price for consumers.
Gadkari said he urged the government to privatize the oil and natural gas sector, which has been opened.
Last year, the Ministry of Petroleum simplified guidelines for authorization for marketing gasoline and bulk and retail diesel.
This is done to increase private sector participation in marketing of gasoline and diesel.
“Now, we have invited all private companies, including PSU, in the field.
Even you can import LNG,” he said, adding clean fuel has a good future in this country.
LNG appears as the most preferred fuel for long-distance transportation throughout the world.

The truck runs around 98,000 km in a year, so after the conversion becomes a LNG there will be a savings of Rs 11 lakh per vehicle in 9-10 months.
